Getting Around UBC

UBC is a large campus, the majority of which can be accessed within 15-20 minutes of walking from the central bus loop. There are numerous places around campus to lock bikes, and the area is accessible through bike-share services such as Mobi. The campus and its periphery is serviced by the #68 bus which will take you through the various residence areas surrounding the university.

Accommodation

As Translink bus services can be heavily impacted by commuters during busy hours, we recommend that you stay nearby to campus. Some options a walkable distance away include the Gage Suites, West Coast Suites and the Carey Centre. More information can be found here:

If you choose to stay off-campus, we recommend locations that near direct bus lines to UBC. In the Downtown and Olympic Village areas, this includes the 14, 4, and 84 bus lines. All urban public transportation services in Vancouver (Bus, RapidBus, Skytrain, and SeaBus) are operated by TransLink, which supports tap-to-pay at a small premium with most cards on the majority of routes.

For cheaper fairs, look for Compass tickets and passes which can be purchased at most Skytrain stations or ordered ahead:
