Hi everyone, CUPC 2023 is almost here! We’re so excited to see you all tomorrow. The following pages have been updated with more information, so check out the links to catch up on everything.
Keynote Speakers Panels and Panelists Student Presentations
When you arrive at the hotel to register, you are welcome to hang out in the Silver Lake Ballroom from 12pm, and icebreakers will begin at 5pm. We’re also happy to announce that we’ll be providing breakfast on Friday and Saturday morning, which will be served in the Ballroom before we split off into presentation rooms.
Please make use of the Discord server to chat with us and the other delegates before and throughout the conference.

Hi everyone!
With CUPC approaching in less than two weeks, we hope you’re getting excited and starting to work on your presentations, figure out travel, and maybe even plan your outfits. We will be extending registration until October 20th as there is still some space left, but please try to register as soon as you can so we can place catering orders accordingly.
More information regarding Student Presentation guidelines is now available on the Attendee Information page. The schedule has been posted and organized by discipline. We will do our best to accommodate scheduling conflicts, but unfortunately cannot accept preferences.
We have also published information about the keynotes and panelist speakers, so check out those pages for a sneak peak at the exciting lectures we have planned!
As the conference dates get closer, we will aim to use our Discord server as the main place of communication. Students are welcome to ask questions, discuss student presentations, and chat with each other before meeting! Make sure to check out the Instagram page too, and maybe even win a prize for interacting with stories and posts. See the Contact Us page for the Instagram and Discord links.
Lastly, this year’s CUPC will be slightly different than previous ones, where we will make use of the closing ceremony to discuss what the process of organizing CUPC is like and how to bid for CUPC 2024. Students interested in hosting CUPC 2024 at their university are encouraged to stick around, ask questions and chat with the current executive team. Maybe your university will be next!

Hi everyone!
We hope your Fall term is going well so far! Abstract review is well underway, and the finalized list will be posted shortly. We are receiving over 120 submissions and appreciate your patience as our review team goes over their decisions carefully.
As the conference draws near, make sure you are making the necessary arrangements to attend. This includes travel to and from the conference, letting your professors and supervisors know of your absence from class/work, and maybe even starting to work on your student presentation slides!

Hello physicists and welcome to the Fall 2023 term! We hope that you all had a great summer, whether that was a study term, coop/research work, or some time off to rest before the new school year.
With CUPC 2023 approaching in less than 7 weeks, the website will be updated every few days with all the information you need to make for a successful conference experience.
Registration is now open until October 15, 2023. Please see previous announcements or the Registration and FAQ pages for more information.
Due to the lack of submissions, the Student Presentation Abstract Submission deadline is being extended once more until September 25, which is a soft deadline which marks the day that the Committee will begin reviewing abstracts. We recommend meeting this soft deadline, but understand if there are extenuating circumstances preventing this. We will still accept submissions past this date, however we cannot guarantee that there will be time for all presentations. A list of presenter names will be published on October 2 and is subject to edits as more submissions are accepted.
The Committee has reserved a block of rooms at a discounted rate at the Delta Hotel in Uptown Waterloo, where the conference will be held. The last day to reserve a room is September 28, after which the reserved rooms will be released from holding. Please see our Attendee Information Page for more instructions on how to book a room.

All information regarding registration can be found here. Please make sure you have read and understood Eventbrite’s refund policy before purchasing your ticket, and please answer all questions to the best of your ability. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
We are still accepting student presentation abstracts until September 15th, so make sure to submit yours! See the student presentation page for more information. More information regarding presentations will be available starting in September. Please be patient as our executive committee is currently wrapping up their Spring 2023 work terms, or entering exam season!

Hello everyone! We hope your summer is going well. Please see the following announcement for some important updates.
The Student Presentation Abstract Submission form is being extended, and will now close on September 15th. Our review committee will take the following week to review abstracts, and we will announce the names of the students presenting September 22nd. The final schedule will be released shortly after. Please see the Student Presentations page for more information.
We are actively working on securing speakers and panelists for CUPC 2023. The itinerary will be posted soon, and we will update it with names/titles filled in as we finalize these details.

Hello Physicists! Welcome to the Announcements page of the CUPC 2023 website. Here, we will share important information regarding the 59th annual Canadian Undergraduate Physics Conference. You can also sign up here for our newsletter, which will be sent through email to make sure you don’t miss any important information.
Now it’s time to mark some important dates in your calendar!
CUPC 2023 will be held October 26th-29th, 2023. An official itinerary will be released in the coming months jam-packed with interesting events.
Are you hoping to give an oral or poster presentation about your undergraduate work/research? Abstract submissions will open on Tuesday, May 23rd and close on Friday, July 14th, 2023. We’d like to give you as much time as possible to submit your abstracts. Even if you have a research/work position over the summer, there’s still plenty of time to submit your abstract to present in late October. See the Attendee Information page for more information.
On July 28th 2023, we will announce the names of the students selected for oral and poster presentations. Finally, Registration will open on August 1 and close on October 15th, 2023. This will be done through Eventbrite, and a link will be published on the website at the appropriate time. The fee is consistent no matter when you register, but the first 50 delegates to sign up will receive an extra surprise in their swag bag.
